Plumbing Related Occupation (Gas) JIB Card

The White PRO (Gas) card is intended for workers who will not be doing actual plumbing or pipe fitting, but will be doing related work involving gas lines on a construction site. This might include Gas installers, fitters, technicians, engineers or any other workers covered by Gas Safe registration.

A White JIB Card grants access to carded areas of a worksite to these plumbing and gas-fitting related workers, and ensures that anyone working with gas on site has the safety training necessary to do so safely.

What qualifications will I need?

There are not many prerequisites to gain a White PRO (Gas) JIB Card.

All PRO (Gas) Card holders must be GAS Safe certified, and provide their valid individual license number (7 digits) before they may apply for their White PRO (Gas) JIB card.

You must also have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test.

Please note that the White PRO (Gas) Card is not suitable for those workers who have achieved any gas-related SVQ or NVQ certification. They should apply for a higher-level card.

How long is the certification valid?

The White PRO (Gas) Card is valid for five years and can be renewed.

What is the next step?

Those labourers who wish to advance their careers after earning their White card might wish to seek further certification with a Blue Card, or work directly towards a Gold Card if they already have sufficient NVQ levels.
