The Green General operative (Labourer) JIB card is intended for plumbing operatives of a basic, general type. They will usually be employees, who are labourers, mates or general operatives.
A Green JIB Card grants access to carded areas of a worksite to these plumbing labourers.
To gain a Green JIB Card, you’ll need to hold one of the following:
The CITB Health, Safety and Environment test certification, or
A CCNSG Passport to Safety,
You will also need to have recently done paid work as a mate, labourer or general plumbing operative.
The Green JIB Card is valid for five years and can be renewed.
Those plumbing operatives who wish to advance their careers after earning their Green card might wish to seek further certification with one of the Blue JIB cards, which allow the operative to specialise as a Mechanical pipe Fitter, Plumber, Heating Fitter or Gas Fitter.
