What is a Gold (Plumbing Supervisor) JIB Card?
The Gold (Plumbing Supervisor) JIB card is intended for highly experienced and well-trained plumbing (and related fields) experts who routinely supervise others on the worksite, and have the advanced HS&E training they need to do this safely.
What qualifications will I need?
There are two ways to gain a Gold (Plumbing Supervisor) JIB Card certification.
Option one (qualification) requires you to have all of the following:
- Passed the Supervisors CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, or be able to show that you are exempt from sitting it. (Exemptions include holding a CCNSG Passport to Safety, FAS Safe Pass, or a NEBOSH Construction certificate, SSSTS or SMSTS taken within 2
years of application.)
- Qualified for your NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or 4 in a plumbing-related field
Option 2 (experience) requires:
- Only two endorsements from employers and/or clients.
- Passed the Supervisors CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, or be able to show that you are exempt from sitting it. (Exemptions include holding a CCNSG Passport to Safety, FAS Safe Pass, or a NEBOSH Construction certificate, SSSTS or SMSTS taken within 2
years of application.)
How long is the card valid?
The Gold (Plumbing Supervisor) Card is valid for five years and can be renewed.
What is the next step?
Those supervisors who wish advance from their Gold (Plumbing Supervisor) card may wish to qualify for their Black (Manager) JIB card.
