The Blue (Gas Service Fitter) JIB card is intended for fully qualified operatives who have the training and experience necessary to work as a gas fitter.
To gain a Blue (Gas Service Fitter) JIB Card, you’ll need accepted qualifications for gas service fitter blue cards:
Central Heating & Water Heating
Domestic Natural Gas Installation & Maintenance (ACS)
Domestic Natural Gas Installation
Gas Services Installation & Maintenance. (Domestic App.)
Gas Services Installation & Maintenance
Gas Installation Studies (598-1)
Level 2 Certification for Service Engineers (GAS) (662-1)
Intermediate Certification in Gas Fitting
Craft Certification in Heating & Ventilating Fitting (597-1)
This is not an extensive list – you may be eligible for this card if you hold similar qualifications.
All operatives must be GAS Safe certified, and provide their individual license number (7 digits), before they may apply for their Blue (Gas Service Fitter) JIB card.
This card does not prove competence in gas work or Gas Safe Registration.
The Blue (Gas Service Fitter) JIB Card is valid for five years and can be renewed.
Those operatives who wish to move on from their Blue (Gas Service Fitter) JIB card will want to seek their Gold (Gas Service Fitter) JIB card.
