CSCS Cards and Insurance

By | August 1, 2011

Did you know that not having a CSCS card that is relative to your occupational area within the Construction Industry, could affect any claim that you make, for any injury incurred at work, against any Insurance policy that you may have in place. The reasoning behind this possibility is:

  • Being in possession of a current CSCS card shows that you are aware of Health & Safety issues related to the Construction Industry.
  • The CSCS card that you possess needs to be relevant to the occupation area of the Industry that you are engaged in – having a labourers card does not give you cover to operate as, say, a bricklayer because it does prove your competence in this occupational area.

In essence, the wrong CSCS card could mean your Insurance is not valid.
