What is the course?

This course is tailored towards those that are keen on taking their first steps towards a career within the construction or civil engineering industry and are working to obtain a Green Labourer CSCS Card.

The one-day programme has been specifically developed to help you gain an awareness of the current health and safety requirements. It encourages you to recognise the hazards associated with the tasks and duties you will be expected to perform daily on site.

How is the course taught and assessed?

The course is taught by an experienced construction professional. You will be assessed on your contribution to classroom discussions and group work, plus your performance in individual or group presentations. You must also complete a multiple-choice test at the end of the course.

Who should take this course?

This course is suitable for those aiming to launch a career in the construction or civil engineering industry and are fairly new to the sector.

What qualification will I receive?

Upon completion you will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus Certificate. Once you have completed the course you can progress onto the two-day Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).

What can I do next?

Once you have completed the course you can apply for the Green Labourer CSCS Card.

Entry requirements

A good level of written and spoken English.
