CISRS Part 2 Course

What is the course?

This ten day course expands and reinforces the skills learned in the CISRS Scaffolding Part 1 course. It is only open to those who have gathered at least six months of on-site experience after passing the Part 1 course.

Course content

  • Using pavement gantry, splay, loading bay, protective fan, truss-out, roof and pre-fabricated beam scaffold types properly
  • Compliance with all applicable regulations, including TG20, BS EN12811-1 and SG4
  • Setting anchors for tie testing
  • Building an NVQ/SVQ portfolio

How is the course taught and assessed?

This course combines classroom study with extensive, team based practical exercises to teach you how to erect, dismantle and make alterations to various common scaffolding types safely.

You will be assessed using both practical tests and written, multiple choice tests.

What qualification will I receive?

Upon completing this course, you will receive a CISRS Scaffolding Part 2 certificate, which is valid for life.

What can I do next?

You can renew a Red (Trainee) CISRS Card with either a Part 1 or Part 2 certificate. Please note, it can only be renewed once.

Also if you have both Part 1 and 2, a Scaffolding NVQ L2, plus have passed the CISRS Skills Test (1 day), you will be eligible to get the Blue (Scaffolder) CISRS Card.

Entry requirements

You must have 6 months site experience working in scaffolding since passing the CISRS Scaffolding Part 1 course. You must be physically able to ascend and descend ladders, and handle both scaffold poles and boards.

Fluency in both written and spoken English is also required.
