IPAF MEWPs for Managers

What is the course?

This one day class is intended to give managers and supervisors the skills they need to co-ordinate several common types of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) safely and efficiently.

Course content

  • IPAF PAL overview
  • Understanding the relevant H&S regulations
  • MEWP types and classifications
  • MEWP maintenance requirements and pre-use checks
  • On-site familiarisation procedures
  • Use of PPE on and around MEWPs
  • Understanding hire contracts for MEWPs

How is the course taught and assessed?

This course will be taught both classroom setting as well as with practical exercises using actual equipment. There will be a pre-course theory test, and the course will finish with a written test. You will be assessed based on your practical understanding and the results of your tests.

What qualification will I receive?

If you already have an IPAF PAL card, the ‘MM’ (MEWPs for Managers) category will be added to it, the certification being valid for 5 years. If you do not already hold an IPAF Operator’s License will receive a training certificate.

What can I do next?

After achieving your IPAF MEWPs for Managers certification, you may wish to attain certification in other categories for your IPAF Operator’s License / PAL card.

Entry requirements

Course participants will be required to bring their own personal protection equipment, specifically a safety helmet and safety footwear. Whilst this is a practical course, those who attend should still have fluency in both written and spoken English.
