Green CCDO Card - Demolition Labourer

Why do I need a CCDO Card?

The Green (Labourer) CCDO card is intended for demolition workers with little or no on site experience.

A Green CCDO grants access to carded areas of a worksite to these labourers, and shows that they have at least the minimum health and safety training and site skills work safely and effectively. However, it does not qualify them to do more than very basic duties on the worksite.

As they are inexperienced, Green CCDO card holders must work under close supervision by an experienced operative or manager.

What qualifications will I need?

To gain a Green (Labourer) CCDO card, you will have to have successfully completed an Asbestos Awareness Course and the Demolition Awareness one day course with level 1 NVQ exam at the end.

Asbestos Awareness courses must have been completed within the last 12 months by a NDTG approved training provider (Excluding E-learning certificate).

You must also pass the Construction Skills HS&E Operatives Test.

How long is the certification valid for?

The Green (Labourer) CCDO card is valid for five years and can be renewed once expired.

What is the next step?

Once operatives have gained experience of at least one year in the demolition sector they can be put forward for industry assessment which will give them a Demolition Operative (Demolition Reclamation & Refurbishment) CCDO card.
