What is the course?

The CPCS A58 Excavator 360 provides candidates with the foundation training in how to operate a mini excavator (under 10 tonnes) and how to keep them maintained.

Course Content

How is the Course Taught and Assessed?

The course is taught via a mixture of classroom discussion and practical elements, including ‘on-site’ conditions. Assessment is carried out in both fields, with practical and theory tests taken.

Who Should Take This Course?

This novice course is available to those individuals who will be using a 360 excavator (under 10 tonnes) in the construction or land-based industry. It is also a course available to existing operators who require a refresher course.

What Qualifications Will I Receive?

Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be awarded a CITB National Construction College certificate and a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (when CPCS Technical Tests have been successfully completed).

Entry Requirements

All applicants must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within the last two years. Candidates must also possess a good level of written and spoken English.

What Can I Do Next?

Once this course is successfully completed candidates can go on to study for a Competent Operator Card, the Excavator 360 Tracked (above 10 tonnes) course, Excavator 180 Wheeled course or the Combined Excavator 180 Wheeled and 360 Tracked course.
